ANNOUNCEMENTS
8th Grade DC and New York Trip Fundraisers
8th graders bound for the spring New York & DC trip have fundraisers coming up and would appreciate the support of our BCS Community. Here are a few opportunities and thanks in advance!
February 8th - Papa Murphy’s Fundraiser on NE 41st & Fremont. 20% of ONLINE orders will be donated to the 8th Grade Trip Scholarship Fund. Use code GIVE20 when you place your order at papamurphys.com .
February 11th - Fundraisers will be at the OBOB tournament selling food and beverages.
February 16th - Fundraisers will be at the Middle School Dance selling food and beverages. Cash in small bills ($1s) appreciated.
Need a babysitter, pet sitter/dog walker, or someone to help with yard work? - We have a list of 8th graders willing to help and earn money for their trip. Contact Andrea Alejandrino at bcs8thgt@gmail.com for the list.
More fundraisers will be coming up this spring before students take off in May! If you have questions about these fundraisers contact Andrea.
Lunch Duty Volunteer Opportunities
Can you help support our staff at lunch duty? As a K-8, BCS has an extended lunch period, lots of students, and a rather large recess area to monitor. If you find free time around mid-day, please consider helping at lunch duty/recess. There will be staff there to support you. Sign up here.
Join the 2023 Spookarama Team
While Halloween is probably the last thing on your mind, we want our 2023 event to be spooky - not our project timeline! If you'd like to be involved in planning and leading a portion of the event, you're welcome to join the returning leads from 2022 in a casual meeting on Thursday, February 9 to discuss the 2022 event survey results and begin some early planning for 2023. Contact Kelsi Roberts, kelsi.p.roberts@gmail.com if you're interested in joining the team - even if you can't make this meeting!
BCS Parents of Children with Dyslexia:
Do you have a child with dyslexia currently in BCS and are interested in meeting parents in a similar situation? Parents have expressed interest in creating a support and sharing group to connect on learnings, challenges and successes. The goal is to build a community where parents and kids do not feel alone in this journey. Please email dyslexiasupport@beverlyclearyschool.org if you’re interested in learning more.
