Hello Beverly Cleary families,

We had a very informative and productive general meeting last week.  please go here to review the presentation from Isaac Cardona, PPS Senior Regional Director in charge of new principal recruitment.  It includes information on the repaving of the blacktop as well.  Also, the time has come for all BCS spooks to gather. Spookarama is this Friday!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

See you at Steeplejack Brewing this Wednesday!

Here's another great opportunity to eat out to raise money for our school!  Steeplejack Brewing will donate 10% of all food sales and 15% of all Steeplejack beer sales (including canned beer to go) starting at 3pm through close (10pm) on October 26th.  Includes all dine in and take out.

Spookarama is this Friday!

K-2 and sensory avoidance at 5:30pm, all other grades at 6pm.  Event ends at 8pm.

*Volunteers are still needed to set up, clean up, run games, and help with food service!  Some beloved features may not be available unless we have volunteers.  Please sign up for a volunteer shift - reminder, you need to complete a background check in advance.  Middle Schoolers can help, too! Middle school sign-up sheets are located next to Ms. Kob’s office door.

*We need YOUR treat donations for the Treat Trot:

Participants walk in a circle until the music stops… and winners who land on the lucky numbers can literally take the cake (or donuts or cookies)!

We are seeking donations of cakes, cupcakes, donuts, and cookies - or whatever other treat you’d like to donate. These should be pre-packaged—think sack of cookies or carton of mini cupcakes or donuts you might find at Fred Meyer in the bakery. Nut free is ideal. We will need a variety of gluten free options as well. Please ensure your package includes at least 2 or more treats. The fun of it for the kids is sugary excess!

What to do: Drop off your packaged treats at the Beverly Cleary Fernwood office on Thursday (10/27), or Friday (10/28) before 3:30 p.m. Please do not donate any items that would need to be refrigerated.

Find the event details on the website or e-mail spookarama@beverlyclearyschool.org

Mark your calendars for the 2nd Annual BCS Student-directed One Act Festival!

Presented by the BCS Theatre Program on Wednesday November 2nd.  Admission is free but a $5.00 donation is suggested to benefit the theatre program.  Three one-act productions will be presented.  There is something in the festival for all ages!  Check here to read the descriptions of each.  A huge thanks to Mr. Tabshy for helping our middle school students bring these productions to the stage.

Please email submissions to president@beverlyclearyschool.org by noon on Monday for inclusion in the newsletter.
