Dear BCS families,

After spring break, we hit the home stretch of the school year. What a year it's been so far! The PTA has worked hard to bring exciting new programs and refresh beloved events to meet the needs and desires of our community. We are honored to have your support and enthusiasm along the way.

The PTA has several crucial volunteer needs to ensure key events happen and to carry our successful momentum into next year. Your help is vital! Read on to learn more and keep an eye out for more info about Fun Run and Neurodiversity Family Night coming your way after Spring Break.

Thank you to all who have contributed to the PTA this year, our community wouldn't be the same without you. Here's to the final months of the school year!

Best,

Marie Westom, PTA President

URGENT VOLUNTEER NEEDS

Volunteer with the PTA Clothing Center April 3rd

We still need 2 to 3 volunteers to send to the PTA Clothing Center (at Marshall Campus) on Thursday, April 3rd. We need volunteers to represent our BCS community from from 9:30am -1:30pm. Volunteers will help PPS students receive clothing, and help sort donations.

Volunteers can be any BCS adult community members including parents and grandparents. Each PPS school is responsible for sending volunteers two times during the school year to assist students in receiving clothing and shoes. We are excited to be able to have families come to shop for their students.

This past school year, we assisted nearly 1,400 PPS Students! And logged over 2,800 volunteer hours.

Please email communications@beverlyclearyschool.org to volunteer.

BCS Art Show Lead

We need someone (or a small team) to plan and coordinate the beloved BCS Art Show in May. We an outline of how this event has worked in the past and there is also a ton of opportunity to make it your own! Contact president@beverlyclearyschool.org to find out more.

Join the PTA Board

We have several outgoing board members this year. Consider serving next year and help lead our BCS PTA community. The board is crucial to PTA functions, and the many ways the PTA supports BCS events, programs and teachers.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

BCS PTA Welcome Crew Needs You

This year, we’ve seen some new faces around BCS, many joining post kindergarten. Some of our new families are now members of the PTA and have shared how hard it can be to feel connected in the beginning. We believe there is a need to identify families to serve as a touchstone for incoming families outside of kindergarten.

Could you join our Welcome Crew? Email membership@beverlyclearyschool.org to confirm your interest.

Welcome Crew may be matched with a new family, and asked to: say hello and share your contact info, offer helpful tips, plan to meet in person at pick up / drop off, plan to meet up at the first BCS event so friendly faces are present and answer/redirect questions.

As part of bringing new families into our community, we are also so fortunate to have so many amazing languages represented (Currently 11)!  Do you have a working knowledge of languages other than English, and would you be willing to use those skills to help include families new to BCS? If so, let us know!

Please fill out this very brief survey to get started. This year at BCS, we have 11 different primary languages spoken at home: Dutch/Flemish, Afrikaans, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese and English.

Thank you for helping to welcome new faces to BCS!

Spookarama 2026

Planning for this flagship event typically begins in September, but could start before! Our current leads are ready to make way for a new owner(s) vision and we are looking for new project management/leadership for next year's event. We have notes and systems, and a strong team. If you are interested, please send an email to spookarama@beverlyclearyschool.org. (This could easily be split by Elementary Carnival and Middle School Night to lighten the load!) Email Community Engagement, community@beverlyclearyschool.org, and spookarama@beverlycleary.org.

OBOB 2026

We are already thinking about OBOB 2026 - our current OBOB leads are ready to pass the baton so we are looking for new leadership for next year's event. There are great systems in place that we are happy to pass off. If you are interested please send an email to obob@beverlyclearyschool.org.

Help Capture the Memories – Join the Yearbook Team!

Calling all parents and staff! We’re looking for creative and organized volunteers to help with next year’s BCS yearbook. Whether you love photography, design, writing, or just want to lend a hand, we’d love to have you on the team! Join together as a team with staff in creating a keepsake that students will treasure for years to come. No experience? No problem! There is a guide, Josten's rep, and a meeting with former advisors to hand over all the tips and tricks. Interested? Email Liz Kobs (lkobs@pps.net) to learn more.
