Book Harvest 

November & December 2024

Are the books that your children have outgrown taking up valuable shelf space? Are you looking for a way to pass them along to local kids in need? BCS is joining other schools and organizations to support the Childrens’ Book Bank Annual Book Harvest. Once books are gathered, the Book Bank will clean, refurbish and bundle books by age group and distribute them across Portland.

How You Can Help

From November 1st to December 15th we are collecting books for the Children’s Book Bank. Find boxes for donation of new and gently used picture books, board books, graphic novels, and young chapter books located inside the main entrance of Fernwood (33rd and Hancock).

Book Harvest always needs more board books, graphic novels and children's books written by diverse authors and/or featuring diverse characters. While they wish they could take everything, Book Harvest is unable to accept adult books, religious books, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, activity/coloring books, or books with significant damage.
