About Our PTA

The Beverly Cleary School Parent Teacher Association is a non profit, volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators and community members. Our PTA strives to provide a sense of extended community and to support the school, teachers, parents and each individual child. The BCS PTA sponsors classroom projects, teacher grants, and community events during the year and has many on-going projects such as the PTA Reading Challenge, racial affinity groups, Oregon Battle of the Books, Teacher Appreciation Week, Principal Coffee Talks, a school-wide family directory and this website. The BCS PTA also provides volunteer support for classrooms, our garden, and special events.

The BCS PTA program funding is generated through a variety of school-based initiatives.  Our main fundraisers for the 22/23 school year will include year-long merchant programs, restaurant fundraisers, BottleDrop family participation and a very fun FUN RUN!  Periodically, we may have other fundraising events for specific purposes.

We hope that every adult with children at BCS will join our PTA. All children benefit from the programs and services of our organization. It is through your memberships, volunteer hours, and overall participation in your student’s education that we achieve success together.

Our Mission

BCS PTA’s mission is to cultivate an inclusive community that provides equitable opportunity, access, and educational support for all students. We are anchored by the national PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Our key priorities are to:

  1. Create opportunities that build community
  2. Fundraise to support teachers, staff and community
  3. Advocate for school safety, educational equity and improved access to enrichment opportunities
