Educational Support
Teacher Grants
BCS PTA sponsors teacher grants up to $1000 for supplies, materials, and experiences that promote educational equity, health, and safety. Our annual budget, raised through membership dues and fundraising, is $10,000.
In the 2023-24 school year, teachers were awarded grants for a variety of materials like supplemental books, leadership class supplies, PE equipment, flexible seating supplies, and high quality microphones, all of which promoted inclusion in daily and/or extracurricular activities.
Teachers are able to apply for grants on a rolling basis throughout the year, and a committee meets to approve grants in a timely manner.
Staff Appreciation
Throughout the year, BCS PTA provides snacks, meals, and special treats to our incredible staff to show our appreciation for the hard work that goes into partnering for the success of our children. These include a potluck style meal during conferences, treat week before Winter Break, and a few surprise dates throughout the year.
At times, we request donated items from families as a way to contribute. During Teacher Appreciation Week in May, a small but dedicated team creates a thematic week, culminating in a catered lunch for staff, paid through our PTA budget.
Arts Program
The BCS Arts Program (formerly Artist in Residence) is currently in a transition phase. We are seeking performing artists (music, dance, theater, vocal) to collaborate with our Arts Coordinator. If you are an artist, know an artist, or have connections to arts organizations, please reach out to edsupport@beverlyclearyschool.org. We are particularly interested in highlighting local and/or BIPOC artists.
Neurodiversity Week
In conjunction with the BCS team, PTA financially supports programming to strengthen understanding and inclusion of our neurodivergent students and families. This includes Neurodiversity Family Night, and evening in May intended to expand all our understanding of neurodiversity and neurotypicality.
Field Day
Every year, the BCS PE team creates a FUN opportunity for all of our students to play games and connect with each other at the end of the school year. PTA supports this program by coordinating volunteer sign up and providing supplies.
