ANNOUNCEMENT

TONIGHT! PPS School Board Candidate Forum at BCS
The PTA is hosting a PPS school board candidate forum next week!
Join us TONIGHT, May 12th at 7:00 pm in the cafetorium to learn about the candidates and hear their priorities.
A representative from the school bond campaign will also be present. To keep things orderly, please submit questions ahead of time here. An open Q&A will be available as time allows. Watching by Zoom is available but we cannot guarantee facilitation of questions that way. The forum is in lieu of our regular general meeting.
Join us on June 2nd to vote on the 2025-2026 PTA budget and board members.

FUNDRAISING
Donate to the FUN RUN by Friday, May 16
498 BCS students ran 4,009 laps (1,002.25 miles) this past Friday at our annual Fun Run.
Fun Run donations are still coming in and we have until May 16 to meet our fundraising goal!
This year's goal is to raise $35,000 to support the PTA's operational budget: funding beloved community events such as Spook-a-rama and the art show, direct support of teachers and staff through classroom grants, artist-in-residence programming, and more.
To make a direct contribution, visit our donation site.
Thank you to our 71 volunteers who came out and supported this wonderful event.

Ridwell Plastic Film Drive
This week BCS's Green Team is teaming up with Ridwell to host a Plastic Film Drive and celebrate Earth Week. Please bring clean dry plastic film (ziptop bags, grocery bags, bubble wrap, and lots more) to school and drop in the Ridwell labeled bins at either the front or back entrance.
Ridwell will make sure it stays out of landfills by working with Trex who turns it into new decking materials instead! Let's see how much plastic we can repurpose!
In addition, BCS will earn a free pickup of the school’s plastic film for all of the ‘25/’26 school year if we get 10 new members to sign up for Ridwell by May 23rd at the BCS site.
Ridwell collects hundreds of common household items you can’t recycle curbside, like plastic food packaging, lightbulbs, clothes, Styrofoam, and more. It is a great way to be more environmentally friendly. Pro Tip: You may be able to reduce your garbage bin size to offset the cost!
