OBOB Registration is Here!

Registration for the BCS OBOB program is now open! Please register your 3rd- to 8th-grade readers for this fun program that promotes literacy in a team setting.

Caregivers should register each student individually. Teammate requests can be made and will be honored on a best-effort basis. We will also make an effort to keep prior year teams together if requested.

All participating students must be registered via this survey by a parent or guardian by November 14, 2025. To participate, each team must identify its own coach and provide battle day volunteers.

PTA & PAT Family Playdate *REMINDER*

On Thursday, October 2, join us right after the dismissal bell for a fun, family-friendly playdate with PTA and PAT (Portland Association of Teachers) leaders! This is a great opportunity to ask questions, connect with leaders, and share your thoughts. PAT will provide popsicles, snacks, bubbles, and games for everyone to enjoy. All families are welcome - see you on the playground!

New After-School Enrichment

Attention middle schoolers! Keep your mind healthy and release stress through weekly yoga taught by Ms. Kobs. Yoga can help with anxiety and ADHD. No experience necessary. For more information, please refer to the attached flyer.

Teacher Grant Committee *REMINDER*

Join the BCS PTA grant committee and help support teacher-led projects that promote equity, health, and safety in our classrooms! Volunteers review grant applications three to four times a year, spending 30 minutes per meeting on a flexible schedule, to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning experiences. Committee members must be General PTA members.

The PTA is inviting (and asking) new families to sign up for a free account on our website. An account will give you:

• access to and inclusion in the school directory,
• access to volunteer sign-up forms, and
• configuration of your student(s) fundraising pages for the Fun Run.
