Spookarama Thank You!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our two-day Spookarama a spectacular success! Special appreciation goes to Ashleigh Hatchel, Dee Butler, Korwren Peterson, Emma Maddox, Danica Denton, Angie Kitzerow, and Colleen Dougless for their incredible leadership, creativity, and hard work.

And of course, an enormous thank you to the many, many parent volunteers who donated their time, energy, and treats to make this event possible. We couldn’t have done it without you! Your support truly made Spookarama a fun and memorable celebration for our students and community.

Picture Retake Day Volunteers | November 6

Picture Retakes will take place on Wednesday, November 6th, from 9:15–11:00 AM in the West Gym. Dorian is looking for one awesome parent volunteer to help out during this time. If you’re interested in lending a hand, please email Carrie Crawford at cfrazier1@pps.net.

2027 DC/NYC Trip Meeting | November 13
*SAVE THE DATE*

Hello current 7th graders and families!!!! At the end of your 8th-grade year, you have an opportunity to see the social studies curriculum come alive IN person by participating in the Washington, D.C., and New York City trip. Even though this trip is almost two years away, the time will fly by. Early sign-up allows for lower monthly payments and more opportunities for students to fundraise. There is also an opportunity for students to travel to Costa Rica on a Spanish trip in 2027. The DC trip is for 8th graders only. Come find out more information about the itinerary, cost, and dates for the 2027 trip at the upcoming November 13th family meeting at 6 pm in the cafeteria. Did You Miss the Great ShakeOut? No worries, you haven’t missed your chance to get prepared! Learn about our school’s recent seismic ratings from PPS and discover how you can take action on our PTA Advocacy page. If you’d like print or digital copies of the earthquake preparedness and advocacy materials shared during the ShakeOut, please reach out to kelsi.p.roberts@gmail.com.

Register Now for OBOB!
*REMINDER*

Registration for the BCS OBOB program is closing soon! Please register your 3rd to 8th-grade readers for this fun program that promotes literacy in a team setting. Many of you have already registered your students, and we hope to see many more!

Caregivers should register each student individually. Teammate requests can be made and will be honored on a best-effort basis. We will also make an effort to keep prior year teams together if requested.

All participating students must be registered via this survey by a parent or guardian by November 14, 2025. To participate, each team must identify its own coach and provide battle day volunteers.
