ANNOUNCEMENTS
Join the Fred Meyer Community Rewards Program for the BCS PTA *NEW*
Did you know you can earn $$ to support our BCS PTA just by buying groceries? It's easy! Whenever you use your Kroger/Fred Meyer Rewards Card while shopping they will match your points, and give the funds to a school of your choosing. All you need to do is link your rewards card to the BCS as your nonprofit organization. This WILL NOT take any of your earned rewards points, fuel points or rebates away. Follow the link to get more details on how to take advantage of Fred Meyer Community Rewards. Our goal is to get 180 families participating in the rewards program this year! That's an additional 40 families from what we have now. We appreciate your continued support!
Winter After School Enrichments are Open for Enrollment! *NEW*
Beverly Cleary Winter 2024 after-school enrichments are open for registration! Scholarships are available: Please notify the after-school provider or a school counselor if you need one. Returning students are welcome – classes change each semester to offer something new. Thank you to Claire Cain Miller, PTA parent volunteer, who coordinates after-school enrichments for our community.
Help plan the new BCS PTA Heritage Evening! *NEW*
Our community is full of families from many different backgrounds, all with a heritage and culture to share. The PTA is planning for a heritage evening in February, a time for families to come together to share their culture with our school community. Families will be invited to share the music, art, games, food, and traditions that are important to them. This event is new this school year, and volunteers are needed to help plan. We plan to have an initial planning meeting in December. Interested in helping? Contact Dawn Isaacs at dawnmarieisaacs@gmail.com by December 1st.
BCS Annual Book Drive: Happening Now! *REMINDER*
Get ready to clear out your kids’ bookshelves, because we are hosting a book drive for the Children’s Book Bank at SMART Reading in order to provide book bundles to thousands of local preschool and Head Start students! From Monday, November 4 until Tuesday, November 26, boxes for book donations will be located in the front entrance lobby. Bring your new and gently used children's books for donation and give them a new life with another child or family. The Children’s Book Bank is currently accepting board books and picture books for young students (no more than a paragraph of text per page). Not accepted are chapter books, books for high-schoolers/adults, damaged/musty books, scribbled in books, coloring books, activity books, text books, encyclopedias, or ex-library books.
Bottle Drop: Holiday Give *REMINDER*
SO very impressed with our community - we have recycled $2630.00 toward our Bottle Drop goal for the 2024/25 school year. BottleDrop Oregon is continuing their tradition of Holiday Give - this is an excellent way to squeeze just a bit more $$$ out of those can and bottle returns. All Blue Bags dropped off between November 15th and December 2nd will earn BCS 20% more than usual. That could be a $2.00 bonus per bag! If you have a favorite local business (restaurant, bar, gym, orthodontist, dentist, etc.) that you can convince to fill even one bag just this one time…now would be an excellent time to turn on the charm. As incentive to get those bags in - I will bring your full blue bags in to the recycle bins myself - easy peasy. Please email me at bottledrop@beverlyclearyschool.org and we can schedule a pick up. Contact Christina Kirby via the email above with any questions - thank you again for your support!

Not accepted are chapter books, books for high-schoolers/adults, damaged/musty books, scribbled in books, coloring books, activity books, text books, encyclopedias, or ex-library books.
